A PostModern Jukebox style band PMJ

It’s all go!!

It’s been all go here at MVDB, so much so we’ve had little time to update posts on the site, so here’s quick one!

A couple of weeks ago we headlined the Ice House Jazz Stage up in Belladrum – the largest music festival in Scotland where the likes of  Paloma Faith, Amy McDonald & Fun Loving’ Criminals headlined the main stages. We went down a storm, with the crowd screaming for more.  here’s a small clip of out last tune – the Avril Lavigne hit SK8R Boi given an MVDB makeover with a dose of “Hey Mickey”!

Following on from Belladrum, we’ve got a few high profile gigs coming up on the back of our performance there – we can’t disclose detail of these due to respecting the privacy of our client, but suffice to say, we’re very happy!

Just to close off, we’ve just signed a deal with the fantastic Coast agency to represent us, our profile will be live soon along with some new photography and perhaps a new video or two, so keep your eyes peeled!

All the best from team MVDB.

(P.S. here’s some pictures from our Belladrum trip)

Showreel 2017

After a whirlwind day on Saturday, we’ve finally got our 2017 showreel in the can along with a few other tracks which we will be releasing on soundcloud.

The band is sounding amazing – full of life and energy. Huge thanks to twinsound AV for the location A/V and lighting services as well as band friend David and Irene for the generous loan of their beautiful victorian living room!

The showreel will be released in the next week or so – be sure to check back!

Progress

Great progress being made in rehearsals at the secret lair this week as we head towards a busy weekend! Someone managed to sneak a camera in and filmed some of it too!

Umbrella…

Well, given the current weather, it seems fitting that this is the latest song in our repertoire. Here’s the PMJ version featuring the amazing Casey Abrams with Sarah Reich and Melinda Sullivan on tap duties! Get your brollies at the ready!

Friday Blog

SO – it’s the day after Election Day, but things are still all a flurry at MVDB HQ. New tunes are being done as we speak – we got a brilliant version of the Game of Thrones theme – this really gives the guys in the band a chance to stretch their legs (as well as giving our hard working vocalists a chance to rest their vocal chords and heckle).

Well – rehearsals are going well. We have a new secret lair in which to experiment with our tunes! We also have our launch date and night confirmed (more details of that later as we get closer to the time) and the whole show idea is slowly coming together inside my head and slowly being transformed onto legible form!

Been watching a few PMJ videos (as you do) It’s great to watch Scott Bradley and the crew at PMJ go from strength to strength and to continue to great, engaging content, but also seeing music live as it should be!

First Rehearsal

Well – first rehearsal went fantastic – we covered ground on at least 15 tunes tonight. Some are production ready already! (try saying that in a hurry!)
